This house abounds with dog lovers. And while Jan holds down the fort during the week, her two grown sons and husband, Bob, enjoy 4 legged love on the weekend.
During the day Jan can be found plying clay in her studio or working with dogs. Jan has taught puppy socialization and basic obedience for a local dog handler, and to this day has not met a dog that could intimidate her.
A great love for Collie's led Jan to work as a novice dog handler for Shookabin Kennels, a local Collie breeder. Having owned 4 Collies of her own, Jan decided to change breeds. A young Golden Retriever suffering from colitis and flea allergy dermatitis drew her attention and a rescue took place. Through Jan's dedication, extensive research and work with a dog handler specializing in naturopath medicine, 'Chance' overcame these problems and became a mascot to all the neighbours on their lake. Love conquers all!

COMPATABILITY Jan is home during the day and welcomes all breeds, large or small.Close to leash free park. Fully fenced in yard. No pets or small children.

<< Our pampered miniature poodle is a gentle and loving little dog. She is very dedicated and affectionate with family but can become stressed in an unfamiliar environment. With her arthritic joint problems, she also needs a little extra attention for her care. << I have two Goldens..a 7 1/2 yr old female Macie and a 2 1/2 yr old male Rufus(aka Goofy Roofy)
They are well behaved,except for the two times that I tried to kennel them,their behavior after kenneling was not the best(I am not blaming the kennel)it's just that I know my two dogs well enough to know that they probably don't like not being the centre of attention.
Well,I ended up asking Jan if she would mind looking after them ,and upon their return,my dogs were still the same ,as if we hadn't left them.
Jan has looked after my dogs since they were puppies,and she treats them as part of her family.I have left them with her anywhere from a couple of hours,and as long as five days,while we were in the States on a bike ride.
She allows them the run of her house, and even allows them to sleep in their bedroom,they are not crated,and are exercised by her and her husband.Both me and my wife are totally at ease when they are with Jan,we know they are being treated as if they were their own dogs.I have the utmost confidence in her,and any dog owner knows,that the love between dogs and their owners is a strong one.And I can honestly say that Jan loves my dogs,and they love being around her.
As soon as we are near her house in the truck,the tails start wagging,and the excitement level starts to build,and when we pull in the driveway,I just open the door and they both run to her front door and sit waiting for me to knock.And when the door opens,it is as if,they own the place.
